The Science Hub is made up of a talented group of subject leads from across the TCAT high schools.
It also works regularly with the Science Learning Partnership based at Beamont Collegiate Academy who have lots of funding and expertise on current CPD opportunities available to all the science staff tailored to their subject specialism, key stage or career stage.
The hub meets every half term and one of the main focuses of meetings has been developing a curriculum collaboratively across the trust.
The sequencing of learning and addressing misconceptions has been an incredibly effective way to share good practice and discuss pedagogy.
In the early stages of the hub, it aligned exam boards at key stage 4 which allowed the group to exploit the expertise of the various examiners that are part of the science hub. This has led to increases in student performance at GCSE at all five TCAT hub schools.
Chris Hillidge leads the hub, but there is a wealth of experience across the different schools that has led to various working groups engaging with a range of different projects.
