Early Excellence is delighted to be working in partnership with Penketh
South Community Primary School and The Challenge Academy Trust to offer
this twilight session for EYFS teams.
Our understanding of how young children learn continues to evolve and it is
essential that all practitioners have the knowledge required to support them
to be the best possible learners. As highlighted by Ofsted in the Best Start in
Life report, a higher developed executive function in the early years is a key
competent of a building a secure foundation for learning.
In this session we will be exploring the core principles of executive function
and self-regulation; reflecting on how each is interconnected and how they
relate to the Characteristics of Effective Learning. Drawing on the latest
early years research, we will be considering approaches to teaching
executive function and self-regulation skills in the early years – providing you
with practical strategies to deepen your understanding and strengthen
practice.
